Designed around people
We start with the people who will live in the home: how they move, rest, socialise and receive support. Private space, natural light, quiet areas and room for visitors are planned in from day one.
Specialist Disability Accommodation · Newcastle & the Hunter
CarePoint Living designs and builds Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in Newcastle and the Hunter. Every home is planned for independence, safety, dignity and choice, and placed where residents can be part of their community.

A good home is about more than accessible doorways. It is somewhere people feel safe, have their own space and choices, and can live the life they want. That is what we set out to build.
We start with the people who will live in the home: how they move, rest, socialise and receive support. Private space, natural light, quiet areas and room for visitors are planned in from day one.
Our homes are designed to the NDIS SDA Design Standard for the category each home is intended for: Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, Robust or High Physical Support.
We choose sites in Newcastle and the Hunter that are close to public transport, shops, health services and community life, so residents can stay connected to the people and places that matter to them.
We talk with SIL providers, SDA providers and support coordinators from the design stage, so the layout suits how support is actually delivered: safely, discreetly and with respect for residents’ privacy.
Where a home is being planned with particular residents in mind, we welcome their input, and their families’, on what makes a place feel like home.
Our director is an experienced builder who uses his own building company to deliver the works, so quality and care are overseen personally from the first slab to the final handover.
Thoughtful details such as wider circulation, accessible bathrooms, durable finishes and considered sightlines help residents live safely while keeping a homely, non-clinical feel.
We see our homes as long-term places to live. We plan for durable materials, easy maintenance and responsive care of the building, so it stays a good home for years to come.
SDA is housing for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. Right now, many people in our region who are eligible for SDA are still waiting for a suitable home.
